professional expectations for the field placement year. All students
and field instructors should review the Field Manual at the start of
the academic year.

Intern Placement Tracking (IPT)
The UMBC Social Work Program uses IPT (Intern Placement Tracking)
to manage field placement applications, evaluations, and documentation.
Students and field instructors both use this system throughout the
placement year.

Professional Standards
All social work students and practitioners are expected to uphold
the ethical standards established by the National Association of
Social Workers.
