Join us for our opening SWSA meeting this fall with speaker Simone Kolysh, MPH, PhD, author of Everyday Violence: The Public Harassment of Women and LGBTQ People. 

We'll be introducing the new board for 2021-2022, sharing our goals, and connecting in order to support each other and accomplish the social justice and care-oriented goals of Social Work. We will also be hosting speech and discussion with Dr. Kolysh.

Simone Kolysh, MPH, PhD, Assistant Professor of Sociology at Hood College, is a lesbian agender mother of four and a feminist scholar of race, gender, and sexuality committed to a revolutionary future. Their background in Biology, Public Health, LGBTQ studies, and Sociology aids their interdisciplinary work and scholar-activism. A culmination of the last ten years, Dr. Kolysh’ book, Everyday Violence: The Public Harassment of Women and LGBTQ People, was published in August 2021 with Rutgers University Press.
