Description
This workshop will explore the growing trends among youth and addiction. The
focus will go beyond marijuana and focus on current drug trends and the
overall implication of using drugs for the adolescents, the parents and
the support system as a whole. Various issues will be discussed
including, but not limited to, gender and ethnicity trends, brain
development, co-morbidity, advocacy, and treatment modalities. Current
literature will be discussed and participants will be able to articulate
the importance of exploring various prevention and intervention
techniques.
